No Heinlein-esque shades of "Worlds enough and time"? No sentient ships, either, so I guess not...although the notion of keeping Dora forever a child rubbed the wong way with me.

You are correct. What Skythorn proposed is illegal, even in the 27th century.
ahem ... nothing like a post that is 180 degrees from 'correct'.

Just to say I love Kari's expression in the last pane. You're getting good at this shit, Mr Simon - that could almost be a photo...

Wow. Please can I have dewdrop fairies in my garden (or wherever they live)? Not so sure about the clown music but the zithers would be OK. tiny little fairy ones.

Nothing better than a rave that truly indicates you may be .. er .. raving..

I just looked at the page again and realized "Vee" must be pretty trusting since he has not raised his gun the whole time, or naive.

In his mind, he's there to rescue people. He's the good guy.
It's hard to convince people you're there to rescue them at gunpoint.

To the people in the room though, he's shown up shortly after they where attacked. He boarded their ship with a heavily armed and well equipped force and is now forcing his way through any doorway in his path. It's easy to see how they may be a bit uneasy about his presence. Especially considering that it took them less then a minute to break through the secure door they where hiding behind, and they did it without heavy cutting tools.

I was more refering to him walking about the ship without his gun raised. I would be like Hal with a gun raised as there is ample evidence people have been shooting each other. Maybe he is wearing body armor that is not obvious.

I understand the current situation they find are in now, though I think someone locked them in. The lock is detached from the door and is next to the door. A little hard to lock yourself in when the lock is attached on the other side of the door.

Whisper's response is oddly...human...for her. As is her forbearance in responding to what she would previously have perceived as a dig at her strangeness, and probably gone far out of her way to rub his face in it. That she didn't in this case is jarring.

so, now we have Whisper and the secret of what is inside the wiped hard drives, we have the on-coming ship and we have our mysterious captain's mysterious sister claiming our mysterious captian is a murderer and in the pay of those that wiped out her crew ... what twisted plot are we living in now I might ask ... :/ ?

And to add to the mix it looks like the republic is to blame, which make it understandable when Vee's sis accuses him of coming to finish off the job. Of course one of their warships "just happening" upon them makes things look more dicey now...
