Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

Come to think of it, such a system would be expensive. You need powerful, light, smallscale reactors or comparable power sources (ultra caps, batteries) on each of them to supply the turrets, since they are not connected to a ships main reactor. The power doesn't have to last long, unlike autonomous...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

These marouders are sitting ducks with their reliance on frontal lances and low manouverability. They'd be great against large freighters or capital ships that can't move away, but this, this is slaughter. Niobe shouldn"t fly away, the 2 remaining ones would complete the turn and catch up. But two m...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

There already is a giant fusion reactor in the sky. Fusion alone would not solve any problems that solar power can't already solve today without radiation and radioactive waste problems (Fusion reaction produce neutrons which will breed radioactive isotopes in the reactor containment and cooling sys...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

Is anyone else as amused as I am that Whisper is the one who asks that question? Perhaps Daniel is having more influence on her than he realizes? That assumes she's showing empathy with the enemy and now questions their own actions morality. I don't think that is the case though, In fact, that kind...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

in a ways that are infinitely more dominant and physical than any energy signature of weapons powering up ever could be. Even more than "ominous humm"? ;) the drawback of "ominous humm" is, in space nobody can hear it. Unless it's your own ships ominous humm, in which case it can be at least somewh...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

Oh wow, that entire latest page is just 5 full panels of spaceship-gun porn. That deployable turret speaks "I'm so gonna come and **** you up now" in a ways that are infinitely more dominant and physical than any energy signature of weapons powering up ever could be. That kinda firepower will rip on...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

Can the crew of these ships even speak? Maybe Whissper should have tried the Collective pictogram syntax to talk to those "marauders" ;)

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

Which reminds me, what blew Scar up? A Gerushda-class destroyer, probably. It's not explicitly confirmed - Whisper just says they were hit without warning - but it shows up to attack Kari and co when they're looking for survivors, so the most likely explanation is that it killed the Scar and then h...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

Did this attack come from within, or without? I got the sense Golgotha was one single piece, not a bunch of "plates" of rock that were held together and have now flown apart at the seams. This has GOT to be an ambush. Knowing V, he'll want to go in anyway and look for survivors. He's going to get w...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

Heh, there seems to be an online calculator for everything, just found this: http://www.stardestroyer.net/Resources/Calculators/AsteroidDestruction.html The fragmentation energy calculated by that is significantly higher, but they had the requirement of leaving no fragments greater 10m (which become...
