Shouldn't that be "Turn off your communicators please"? With a quick wave of the hand over the badge?

Name that space station

I can't recall having seen this hit the forums, so here goes. There's a new wing being added to the space station, and NASA has called for votes as to its name. One of the suggested names is Serenity. It's polling very well, but some guy by the name of Colbert is trying an end run to get it named af...

Re: Crimson Dark Chronology Questions

Agree - Heinlein's Diaspora gives an unlimited richness of societies to play with, assuming a couple of centuries pass during which colonies lose contact for while with the established government and each other. I tend to think that's a lot more likely to happen in 'realworld' than the Star Wars Emp...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest news" thread

Dropbears? Drak, now that you've said that I can't believe no one else has said it! I nearly wet myself laughing! Memories of a night trek through the bush down near Lake Tyers/Bairnsdale one school camp in primary school, all of us terrified of being attacked by dropbears. I still haven't been back...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

"Those poor fools, I bet this is how Emperor Palpatine got started." You mean, playing Deity for one whole universe isn't enough, and now you're going to do it at school too? Don't worry about it. The way educational bureaucracy functions, they should be used to having their lives messed with. And y...

You're not alone - most of the people on the forum seems to be from forn parts, and Red Rooster isn't the only thing they just don't get. Try to feed one of them Vegemite on toast and they think they've been poisoned!

Re: Movies I have To See

Don't forget Fox made that really amazingly unbelievably BAD decision to scrap Firefly/Serenity, thereby launching the biggest viewer backlash on record! Well, what else do you call a fandom the size of Star Wars', generated from only 14 episodes (one one movie well after the fact?) Fox seems to hav...

Re: Wherever Sci fi is, we need snacks, whats yours.

Fauvem, you are straaaanggeee. Vegemite with garlic? Yech! For mine, vegemite on 3/4" slice of freshly baked bread, toasted with slathers of butter. Oh, bugger, now I'm really hungry, and it's hours 'til lunch. Movie watching food for me is a good bottle of red wine and some good bread, turkish brea...
