Re: Avatars enabled!

Thanks for the tip.

I saw the upload from computer and the copy from another server.
This is the first forum that I've come across that lets you link images externally.

Cheers

Re: Avatars enabled!

Just rendered my new Avatar for this forum.

Man, do you have any idea how tight a 6K limit on avatars is?

I see some users with a 22K avatar
(altasilvapuer, not to name names but as an example)

I could go a full 100x100 and have a higher quality image instead of a puny gif.

Re: Official "Discuss the latest news" thread

With entire TOWNS burned off the map - literally - this is some serious fire we're having right now. It was 47C the other day in Melbourne - that's (about) 117F. No heat index. No humidity modifiers. Just a basic 47C. According to the metric scale, that's almost half-way between freezing and boiling...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

We know from Firefly that most civillian firearms can't penetrate a hull designed to prevent damage from micrometorites ("..even Vera."). Kari looks awefully dang cute when she's handed the pistol. :D Thanks for bringing the plight to the world's attention, David. === 'It's ripped my heart out, my l...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

Hey, just had a thought.
Is the Strawberry comment a nod to Firefly and Kalee?

I always pause now when I see a strawberry in the supermarket thanks to her... ;)

Re: Official "Discuss the latest news" thread

I read today that the morgues in Adelaide are full - "Please - no one else die from heat stroke until we bury the current lot"

it's hot.

like, really hot.

Re: Miniatures combat

Good input. :) Remote drones are great. However, in a Science Fiction Space setting, I have a hard time getting excited or worried over an Unmanned Recon Vehicle (URV). Something about a Human 'Out There', wearing a pressure suit, with just a thin layer of polymer between them and The Void. Technica...

Re: Miniatures combat

So the map scale would be BIG, the carriers/capital ships would have slow accel/decell, fighters a hefty punch but light armor. tactics: launch fighters before capital ships get in each other's weapons range/tracking solution. Electronic Warfare ships - like Raptors on new BSG - can extend sensors a...
