Thank you all for reading Crimson Dark.

Ending CD wasn't an easy decision to make, but it is necessary. This year working on it became a joyless chore, and while good work is never easy to accomplish, the pains had come to far outweigh the rewards. In part, I think the cynical tone and setting that I established back in 2006 has been dragging me down of late. I want to tell a different kind of story now.

I was always going to take a break at this point in the story anyway, being the end of Volume 2. Volume 3 would have been the scenario established in this epilogue, sort of a Mad Max in Space. I might return to do Volume 3 one day, which is why I've kept the possibility open story-wise, but I don't think it would be honest to just call this an extended hiatus. It is not my intention to return to Crimson Dark, at least not in this form. That could change, but don't count on it.

So what's next? I'm working on several projects at the moment, most of which may never see the light of day. There's nothing ready to announce yet, though the sequel to my novel is high on my list of priorities of course.

I'll make sure to post any announcements here, and you can always follow me on Twitter, where I'm most active (be forewarned, I post a lot of bird photos).

Once again, thank you for reading. Stay safe, and keep fighting for a better future than the one I've presented here in fictional form.
