Call for disparate treasures...

The mass of a ship is a key factor when calculating its jump to riftspace, so it can be deadly to expel fuel while jumping. To allow ships to jump from a zero vector, they have a catapult system, which uses artificial gravity to give the ship a shove in the right direction just before jumping. This is also used to make minute adjustments to the vector of a ship already in motion.

Wraith uses an extended version of the catapult, called a gravitic drive, to allow stronger and more complex application of artifical gravity to move the ship in stealth mode, rendering it practically undetectable. This is extremelyslow and inefficient, however, when compared to fuel-based thrusters.
