I was wondering how much of the galaxy is actually wondering about that.
If I remember right, a certain someone has certain control over relay satellites which are needed to spread the news from one system to another.
If China can censor by keyword with a "great firewall", so can the collective

Searching or Posting anything with "Nargun", "Exchange", "Collective", "Behemoth", "civilian casualties", "unprovoked attack" and "projectile weapons" might have interesting and unintended effects on your communication right now.

This shouldn't affect encrypted military channels, but... well I don't think the military has a high interest in publicly disseminating recent events and their theories about them.


Of course that kind of manipulation couldn't prevent the news from eventually spreading, but it could delay and hinder it. If that is combined with a well targeted disinformation campaign, spreading rumors like "faction X/ terrorists/ ... attacked Nargun Exchange, then tryed to cover up and blame the collective..." - so the rumor of a false flag operation gets to most systems before the actual news does...

Hm.. are we going to see the Espenson Station again soon?
They probably know it better than any other station... and they may know its controller, although it is unsure if they can trust him at this point.
But at least, he used to take precaution what he sticks in his head, so he may have a higher chance not to be compromised.

I checked back to when Sarah collapsed and the Mazikeen virus. It looks like a "proof" is to corner someone associated with the collective and convince them you are going to examine their software then the virus self erases and they collapse. Better have life support on standby to stop it being murder.
