The Scar is a nice ship, but I'm going to miss the Niobe. I love a gritty aging ship with loads of quirks, the personality of the ship (as demonstrated so ably by so many science fiction stories I can't begin to list them all) is so important it's almost another character. The Scar is so over-the-top with its luxury it's going to be hard for me to have the kind of fondness I had for good-old Niobe. Plus, people took one look at her and then under-estimated the ship and her crew. They will be less likely to do so with the Scar.

And they use the one bait that could actually convince him. Not good the new ship, they get possession of it and now it is going to get shot full of holes already. Well at least it is going to get some serious character development out of this *wink*.

Well, the good admiral continues to impress me! I'm finding myself liking her character as this progresses, I'm glad it looks like we'll be seeing more of her. Now I can understand why she's so willing to let them keep the Scar, too. She needs something from them so this builds goodwill. And you guys are right, the real bait is definitely Farhaven.
