Characters and inspirations

Post by Alvarin » Fri Oct 29, 2010 9:18 am

I have searched, but didn't find the information, so my question is -
was Kari inspired by Battlestar Galactica's Starbuck?

I have only seen a few episodes of the original series. So for a moment I was bit lost. Has me thinking though that most character traits can be either gender. In fact I can easily imagine Kari as a male. Nothing about her has struck me as definition female.

Well, nothing concrete (after all, there are no behavioral criteria reserved solemnly to either gender) but combination of impulsiveness and not planning ahead plus mood swings plus deep personal understanding plus taking things as aimed at oneself as default, all these are more typical to women than to men.
