Yeah... sorry if I'm coming off as hypercritical.

I am not a 3D artist (discounting the analog medium of Lego), so any criticism I make should be taken with a grain (or perhaps a shaker, if handy) of salt.

You really do make an excellent piece of art, David. The nitpicking just goes with the fandom to some extent.

And crackpot theories about hot chili causing levitation-inducing updrafts just make things all the more fun!

hmm... if Vaegyr had put in his desired number of peppers...

Obviously it's a high tech levi-spoon.
By building minute anti-gravity devices into the handle of the spoon, it can be made to project a field that perfectly conforms to any users hand, providing a better grip regardless of hand preference or missing/artificial digits (it's a problem when people with artificial hands constantly bend your favorite silver out of shape by accident).
As an added bonus, the spoon (and other silverware) no longer touches the table thus saving restaurant propietors the expense of having to constantly wipe a filthy, disease sodden rag over the tables whenever someone leaves. They can simply point out that nothing that is going into the customers mouth has actually touched the table, and everyone is happy.

Really, I just like to nit-pick. I'm betting it's caused by some limitations in the software you're using and the difficulty of rendering human hands in any media.
So many fiddly bits on these things.

Actually, the spoon is being developed with a cybernetic interface (for those with neural augments). They just have to think the spoon from the plate to their mouth and don't have to touch the thing with their hands. It's great for the busboy who can call the whole lot of flatware into the kitchen and into the microwave cleaner/sterilizer.

If that isn't the height of laziness. :D

This just brings to mind the disturbing image of a busboy having a really bad day and killing a half dozen customers with a swarm of killer flying silverware.

LOL.

and what about Neo in the matrix does he now have the mantra "The spoon isnt flying at my head " instead of just "There is no spoon"?

You're missing the obvious explanation. Kari is plainly using The ForceĀ®...

Glad to see I'm not the only one who senses the inevitably impending pirate attack. ;)

I wonder if it'll be anyone we've seen before. I can't think of anyone left alive who would be doing actual piracy that we've previously seen, but it wouldn't be the first time I've forgotten someone.
