Happy birthday!

But... you skipped Whisper's landing on the station :(
How convenient ;)

Oh, I didn't know that they are at war officially. Or this is the beginning of one?

Anyway, if Wisdom is here to interrupt the transmission, it will not halt the plan no matter what, even if it means launching a suicidal attack.

One way of stalling I foresee is to convince the Wisdom that the Niobids are all on their own ship and haven't contacted the station yet. The station shooting at them may be pretty convincing to ensure that belief.
And noone knows Whisper is on the station.
In that scenario, in order to eliminate the threat, it may be easier to shoot the Niobids, not the station.

So, captain Vaegyr.... better be prepared for an incoming fire from... everywhere!

Until Whisper starts transmitting that is...

The Alliance and the Republic have been officially at war since the start of the comic. Although it seems to be a sort of low-intensity border war - I don't think we've seen any major fleet engagements besides White-Rim and Farhaven. Plausibly both sides are having trouble rebuilding after White-Rim and that's why they're just raiding and privateering.

Wisdom isn't in control of the whole fleet, though - just the Controllers. Probably they passed in a bit of false intel - "We found a weakness in the Republic defenses, if we scramble a fleet right now we can take out Espenson Station without much risk." Individual ships in the fleet are still perfectly capable of halting the attack if it seems like a suicide mission or if they think their intel is seriously wrong.

Somehow I thought there was some cease-fire signed after the events of Farheaven. But I see things just got more heated up.

And disobey a direct order? Technically possible but highly unlikely in a military structure, especially on bigger ships with a lot of people on board. It would require some compex convincing that what they are doing is wrong, and even then it won't be unanimous.

As this progresses it seems like the Souri/Wisom are going to have to figure out how to incorporate the currently warring sides into their collective system, which would be pretty difficult. But I noticed something in the big middle frame of the page when Sapphira was telling them about what happened to Golgotha. It *looks* like there were both Alliance and Republic ships there, as well as some of the Syndicate marauder ships. Am I misinterpreting some of those ship silhouettes?

She also mentions a joint fleet, so yeah.

Unrelated to the above, I'm expecting another gotcha from Bob when Whisper opens that door. He's smart like that.

New page!
Can we presume you are feeling better then? Hope so!

Giving away an info about a blind spot - that could be considered an act of treason... I suspect he knows something. Something that does not add up for him.
