Which reminds me, what blew Scar up?
A Gerushda-class destroyer, probably. It's not explicitly confirmed - Whisper just says they were hit without warning - but it shows up to attack Kari and co when they're looking for survivors, so the most likely explanation is that it killed the Scar and then hung around to see who else would show up.
No, I meant the final explosion that blew Scar's wreck up when Kari tried to download the data from its bridge's data block.
The initial damage was weapon damage from the destroyer, disabling it and breaching the hull. But the final explosion left nothing but an expandibg debris cloud and came from within.

I wonder if there was an explosive or self-destruction device planted deliberately, or if the ships reactor could be triggered to go boom with the apropriate software-hack. If the latter, you could probably do the same with any ship or station with a comparable reactor model.

Our crew discusses fleet shooting the station from above. I still believe it was more of an inside job, rather than direct assault.
The enemy has the means, and it would be more efficient.

Screw efficiency... whomever reduced the asteroid to gently floating rubble wanted to send a message. "You know too much. You're next."

I have to agree with you on that one. There's one description that stands out: "More like demolition work". It's already been established that there are "sleeper agents" within all of the human factions, so this very easily could have been set up and demolished by someone on the inside. It also sounds like it would have been easier to do it that way, too.

This would be a terrible time for a Mensk to show up.

Can the crew of these ships even speak? Maybe Whissper should have tried the Collective pictogram syntax to talk to those "marauders" ;)

Oh wow, that entire latest page is just 5 full panels of spaceship-gun porn.

That deployable turret speaks "I'm so gonna come and **** you up now" in a ways that are infinitely more dominant and physical than any energy signature of weapons powering up ever could be.

That kinda firepower will rip one unlucky marauder a new one. They'd better open coms and speak the safe-word. ;)

Is anyone else as amused as I am that Whisper is the one who asks that question? Perhaps Daniel is having more influence on her than he realizes?

the drawback of "ominous humm" is, in space nobody can hear it.

Unless it's your own ships ominous humm, in which case it can be at least somewhat reassuring ;)
