Unlikely. The explosion is well above the height of the panels. Here's a good shot of the intact panel. Besides, Star Trek killed off the "ship gets hit, panels explode" trope.

Well.... Maybe not a full hull breach but something inside the walls that blew up, like some gas cylinders or a fuel line, leaving the outer hull intact but blasting the inner wall.

Heck, maybe thats why they had those oval panels over the consoles originally. To protect from such a thing, but the Niobids must have though 'em ugly and useless so removed 'em. *LOL*

Yeah, I can't really see how the guns could hit Kari's position from the angle. They appear to be hitting the port engine, so probably just an exploding fuel or gas line, or maybe an explosion that went through the inside of the armour and up to that wall.

Not sure if they would still be capable of attacking now. Larissa is in charge of the main guns they're using. Kari hasn't been using the turret cannons at all (probably because they're too weak to make a difference). So really, they just loose Kari's ability to identify targets. If they want to use their own eyeballs, they can probably line up on the Taratanes and make some good runs with minimum risk. A squad of fighters taking notice is likely their biggest risk now, particularly if Kari isn't there to protect them with point defence... Yeah, probably best to withdraw unless they're going to get smart and stay to the rear of ships they attack rather than fly directly over the main cannons each time, but the risk of fighters would still be too much.

They disables the Vashnir's thrusters and appear to have breached the hull of an O'brien thats likely left it vulnerable, so its been a good run and effort for a ship not designed to take on military vessels.

Good eye. I hadn't noticed that. I wonder if David will weigh in.

At least he/they had the front windows shielded for this run. ;)

It looked to me like the shot was aimed at the Scarborough's main portside guns or possibly the 'shoulder' joint where the stabilizer connects.

If it was a stabilizer hit, hopefully Scar's variable geometry system will make FTL travel less problematic than the similar hit on Niobe.
Some pithy statement goes here.

There is still one story thread that still may come into play.
Remember the encounter in the Katsulas Expanse?

The Bridger? It already got used. That's how they managed to jump in so many blockade runners at the start of this plan.

Who does that bridger technology belongs to, the technology looks to advance to be Cirin Alliance, this is a group that only just started designing and building there own war ships, I find it highly unlikely that they would have know how and knowledge to build it , I am wondering who really built it for them, and what there plans are.

I'm still waiting to see what the Admiral pulls out of her hat. "Run Away" would be a most unsatisfying option. Hmmm, the kamikaze by a destroyer into one of the UTC ships might be interesting... Either way it turns out.

While this is indeed a previously unheard-of technology, and the Cirins have so far preferred to refit commercial ship models rather than build from scratch, they are known to have much more sophisticated/precise jump technology than the Darani. How this compares to the jump tech of the UTC or the Sauri, we don't really know, but the Cirin Alliance apparently does have people who know the field fairly well.

It makes some sense that the Cirins may have superior "jumper" technology if they've been focusing more on commercial shipping rather than military. The commercial sector would be far more interested in faster and more accurate jump technoogy which can allow ships to calculate jumps quicker and to exit at a point closer to the destination in order to save money on fuel for sub-jump travel.

As a socialist state, they would be in charge of their commercial business, so thats probably why they use refitted commercial ships, since they build them for their industrial use as well. Its just a matter of if they're fitted with armour and guns, together with personal quarters, or if they have lots of empty space for cargo or even passenger travel. The Daimyo looks like it could act as a passenger ship under different circumstances, while the Cortes and Gerushda appear to be modeled after small freighters. The Vorstok might be some kind of science or exploration vessel.

Looks like the port guns are intact, so I guess they've just lost the power to them. Presumably they could run the point-defence and gun turrents from elsewhere, maybe Sarah's station or a secondary station somewhere in the ship. I can't really imagine they'd continue unless they plan to take on the poorly armed Sirius. Even then, with only a single working main gun, they'd be fairly ineffectual, but if they stuck to the underside of it, they may be able to sit there and just keep shooting rather than make straffing runs... Nah, they need to sit out of the fight from here on in. Fortunately they'll get paid well enough to afford the repairs.
