Just wanted to say that I'm sticking with Crimson Dark through its upheavals because you're such a good writer (which this latest entry shows clearly). This is not to denigrate your CG skills, which are also considerable. But I think the secret of a really great comic is that the story would stand up on its own, without the visuals. Best of luck with the college stuff :)

I am really wondering what you are doing in college. You have the story writing skills down. You have great CG skills (and instructional videos). What are you taking up in school? Oh right - space.
It really is good to have you back.
In support of your efforts, did you see the Kurzweil report that says at the pace of current technology, we will have embedded be able to "life" outside of our bodies within a few decades. A true immortality of a sort. Is this what Whisper is really? Hmmm. Could be an interesting "life".

Playing chess against the computer. Some games never go out of style. Nice work if you can get it.

Yay, weekly updates again! This is one of my favorite webcomics, both for the artwork and the writing, and I'm glad to see it back. Not that the filler material wasn't interesting at times. ^.^

"Discuss the latest page"

Post by cpuguy1 » Tue May 26, 2009 4:23 am

Careful Larissa, those computer chess programs do sometimes make mistakes.
I have a (semi-simple) chess program that I have moves written down on one certain game. Well in to the game, I am making a queen move, and it turns in to a pawn. I click the queen, then click the square where I want it to go, my queen disappears, and a pawn appears.
I will not call it trying to cheat, but when I play the game over again ... using the same moves I made against the moves it made, it still comes up with the same error on the same move number.
Thankfully, I have several (really close to 30+) other chess programs to play, that play a better (and legal) game.

bah don't wait just shoot it, then you will know if it is friendly or hostile!

the chess program that came with my laptop always ends as a draw when the last piece the computer has is the king. ya my comp is a sore loser.

I love the look of the control panels in your latest page. Keep up the excellent work. Don't feel bad if you can not keep on your scheduled updates. I would rather wait than see you burn out and quit. You have an excellent story and background. Good luck in school.
