In response to your comment under the comic: if you want to see who has linked to your main Crimson Dark page (http://www.davidcsimon.com/crimsondark/) in the last week, you can use the following google search:

http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&l ... =&aql=&oq=

I'm assuming that it doesn't pick up any urls under that as well (ie, URLs pointing to specific comics), but I'm not sure.

Cheers,

Phasmal

Totally agree. Thanks for linking my to my comic too David - it was great seeing those old door designs again, I'd forgotten how much fun they were to make. Your talent for 3D is quite exceptional - keep at it, sir!

You can, quite cheaply, see what links people followed to your site. Note that this won't work with some browsers or some browser settings (it only works if the visitor's browser actually tells you).

Simply log where they came from (enter the referrer into a DB, and increment the count of that url if it already exists in the DB). I modified this script from http://www.knowledgesutra.com/forums/to ... her-sites/
<?php

$referer = $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'];

//Check if browser sends referrer url or not
if ($referer) {
//implement next lines with proper SQL syntax, don't forget to escape $referer so you won't get hit by SQL injection
//$result = "select referer from myTable where referer='$referer'";
//if($result)
//sql("insert into myTable (referer, count) values ('$referer', '1')");
//else sql("update myTable set count='(select count from myTable where referer='$referer')+1' where referer='$referer')");
}
?>

I find it extremely interesting that Mensk would have circular staircases installed rather than a personal lift of some sort.

Hey, David, you said in today's post you use some "Stock vector resources available online," would you be willing to share the website you used?

I've actually moved from lift shafts to stairs in my Traveller deck plans these days. Unless you have a lot of levels to cover, stairs are simpler, fail-safer and faster. And you can make a more impressive entrance.

As promised, the scale comparison wallpapers have arrived:

Sadly I don't have time to make more right now. This project at work was supposed to have finished almost two weeks ago and I had lined up at least a week off work afterwards to dive into production on Chapter 12, however the nature of the project has changed soemwhat and it looks like it'll be a few more weeks at least before we deliver. This means the only time I have for production on c12 is on the weekends, and there are some significant technical challenges to overcome.

I hope you'll all agree that production of Chapter 12 is more inportant than wallpapers.

Back from NZ! Woot!

Got to update the Wiki. I've been slacking off on it for home renovations.

Great designes but just wanted to quickly point out that the code you've already got on your site for Project Wonderful adds do a pretty good job of showing you the link statistics.

You can see the spikes and it also displays the top 10 or so referrers to you in the last day and week: http://www.projectwonderful.com/adverti ... 269&type=3

looks like sunsetgrillcomic has referred to you the most out of relatively normal sites from its link page. Then there's Belfry comics google and TWC.
Please visit, read and update the CRIMSON DARK WIKI

Wow... like most of us, including the characters, I love the look of the new ship (SHINY! in every possible sense... plis quite deadly). That side by side comparison made me feel quite nostalgic for Niobe, though. I really love the effort you put into giving her design character; it certainly showed. On the other hand, I'm *really* looking forward to seeing what they get up to with the Scar. I can understand how hard it must have been to keep talking about Niobe this last year or two...

P.S. Thanks for the wallpapers! I'm constantly amazed with the art you produce and post for us all to have.

Like the others, I'm truly impressed with the depth of detail, quality, and superb design that has gone into creating not only the Scarborough, but even "incidental" characters who're only there for a shot time. That said, I sure how we see Shade again, she's just got to have an interesting story behind her... But I digress. At any rate, I like the look of the Scar, but I can sympathize with the characters who said it was a bit ostentatious for their tastes. I know it's supposed to be like that, but I will miss the Niobe's battered and valiant look. Ships like that, the Serenity, or even how the Galactica was by the end of her days become characters in their own right, and I loved the way that ship seemed to fit with the misfits and outsiders who made up her crew. Rest in Peace Niobe, you've earned a good long sleep.
