I guess what lead to most confusion is that at beginning of 11.02 we see a gun being tossed away and at the end we see a gun being picked up. Since there is nothing to indicate directly that it is not the same gun, the audience thinks it is.
If they had e.g. distinctly different color (e.g. silver and black) people wouldn't be confused. Also probably the dead body of the other guard would help, but it is not necessary.

Ahh well. Storytelling isn't a precise science, I'm still learning :)

Sorry for any confusion.

Having Bob in the frame helped localize the events, the previous page was at abstract location.

But the marine's rifle and the carbine have quite different shapes. The rife has a long "barrel" thingy, while the carbine is short and stubby. And guns today at least are not colour-coded. I suspect that some got lost because of the longish gap between the strip where the carbine-toting guard was nobbled and the latest episodes. I realised it was a different gun, but I had to read back to remind myself of where it came from.

Oh, and "Sisters are doin' it for themselves!"...

I agree. But you don't see those two shapes on 11.02 as you actually see only a part of the rifle of the fighting marine.
As you noted it, you have to go back to 11.01 and 10.33 and examine those rifles.

At first glance both rifles seem simmilar, at least to me.

And that is a great thing about art. Always searching and trying new things.
Those who stop learning and just do again and again just the thing they know, they stop making art.

Keep up with your great work!

P.S. I like the reflection of Kari on the wall :)

I've been waiting for that guard's carbine to go off ever since he dropped it. You guys need to read more gun porn!

BTW, I'm not surprised about the lack of marines swarming about, as it's been previously made clear that marines are a rare breed and there are probably only a handful on the station, at best (at worst?).

I'm trying to remember if we've ever seen marines bleed before. I recall the JAK that slipped aboard on Kari's fighter had orange "blood" (circulatory fluid of some sort, at least). The dead marines found on the theatre ship were JAKs, but I don't remember if we saw blood from them or not. This marine, though... well, he (or she, perhaps) bleeds rather convincingly. Just wondering if that's significant...

It was a surprise find, that the marine WAS a jak, so I'd assume normally they are human.

Yes, but in the fourth panel, the gun-flash (gun-beam?) should be reflected too. Gunshot to the base of the skull; the classics never go out of style.
