Movies I have To See

Post by Digitalmaniac » Thu Jan 01, 2009 6:00 am

I'm really looking forward to the "Watchmen" but now it seems that the release is being blocked by Fox.

I have read that Warners says the Watchmen will be released as scheduled while Fox says "no they won't".

I also read that Warners already has a scapegoat in place who they'll blame for all their losses if there are any. I've also learned that Fox owns the rights to the Batman TV series from the 60's but Warner owns the distribution rights which won't allow Fox to tap into the cash cow in the form of DVD sales. What Fox wants is the distribution rights to Watchmen. It's a tangled mess that can only increase interest and make for a larger box office take.

Actually - movies I do have to see, which are somewhat in doubt.

Someone bloody well needs to pick up "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" and produce it, now that Disney's out.

And they need to quick finish up the Harry Potter movies - it's getting kind of embarrassing how old Daniel Radcliffe is getting and how good of a grown-up actor he's not.

I concur on both counts.

a. Voyage of the Dawn Treader. they BETTER be making the next one

b. the books are done. (except for the Purists, like me) I dont think there is that much interest in Harry Potter much anymore.
I even went to the bookstore and read Beddle the Bard book. it was.. disappointing. 3 small little kid sized stories with morals so to speak :
Evil magic BAD but watch out about good magic too! story a. dumbledore spoke before it and after it. story b and c. dumbledore spoke after it
if they made it into a movie. they would only have to pay the dumbledore guy everyone else could be extras in costumes, it was THAT BAD.

b2 Rowling got her BAJILLION dollars and is no longer interested in making anything even RELATED to Harry Potter any more.

c. on a good note.( I hope) I have heard that Peter Jackson is making the HOBBIT. as we type.

Yes. Peter Jackson Hobbit = good, so long as they actually get the same actor for Bilbo, or a darn good replacement. Bilbo was what, 50 when he left in the Hobbit, and so was Frodo in LoTR.

<-- purist. Rar.
