Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

To get back on track... :-) How much *do* we know about Sarah's past? It sounds like there were some serious personality conflicts, but I feel like we barely know her at all. Whether she becomes (stays?) a main character or not, I think there's a lot to know about her. Also, I'm glad to see Dan and ...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

"Lock your s-foils into attack position." I was going to post this, but I was clearly beaten to the punch. To be honest I suppose it's closer to Voyager's variable-configuration warp nacelles (though as I understand it the stabilizers aren't part of the drive; they just make it easier for the drive...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

"Heave to and prepare to be boarded." Arrr! Avast there, ye scurvy landlubbers! Come about and heave to smartly now, or it's a ball in the bilges for ye! Arrr! Being an old sailor myself, I naturally love the idea that the navy will bring its traditions and language to space, but honestly I t...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

Love this page. We already knew Kari can handle shipboard weapons, but it's good to see that there's no Star Trek-like "Oh, I just need to tap *here* and everything will work just right" to the interface. Fighter pilot training probably includes enough knowledge on weapons and sensors to handle stan...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

It's logical the team would go to command deck/bridge, after all they do need to fly off. I hoped it would be more subtly decorated, though... That is quite the most ridiculously shiny ship's bridge I've ever seen, and I've toured cruise ships and mega-yachts of billionaires! This guy's priorities ...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

Shiny. Very, very shiny. So incredibly much shiny! love the designs. You ever get the feeling that you're underdressed just by walking into a room? Not looking at what other people are wearing, or even when there are no other people, but just because this simply isn't a place for casual clothing? I'...

Re: Movies I have To See

I'm looking forward to Star Trek XI. There are several things in the Trailers which totally piss me off, such as Enterprise having been built on Earth, let alone where a Civilian might accidentally see it, but it has potential. Why is it a bad thing that a civilian might see the enterprise? By the ...

Re: Favorite Sci-fi

Generally agreement with the shout-outs to Babylon 5 and the classics of golden-age sci-fi. I also recently started the Off Armageddon Reef series. Weber actually has a lot of other stuff that's well worth reading; he's best known for the Honor Harrington books (space opera but with a strang charact...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

Oho, questionabable time. Question for David: Hey man, I'd love to donate and be a member of the supporters club, but your current setup only allows donations via Paypal and I don't have (or want) a Paypal account. Is there any way I can get money to you by Visa? Question for everybody: Does anyone...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

Abraham Mensk (the first mensk to die) vastly underestimated what the crew had in terms of firepower and support, as well as the fact he was stupid enough to threaten someone from a weak position (I call the position weak when your enemy can blow you out of the sky without breaking a sweat). Eh, it...
