Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

Re: today's page (2/8); hope the Behemoth gives those two warships a fight, or at least holds them off long enough for Daniel and Whisper to salvage that superconductor, or else their arrival will turn out to be very bad news for our merry crew.

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

Good question - she is an enemy combatant after all, and on the losing side. She doesn't appear to be armed, or in any shape to put up any more of a fight, but only the author knows for sure...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

My guess would be once they lost power the gunships decided not to waste any more railgun slugs on them. But they may still be about to fall into the planet's atmosphere, or leak all their atmosphere into space, or freeze solid due to lack of power for heat...even if they're no longer taking fire, i...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

Yeah, someone on the bridge is getting splattered by that shot. We'll have to wait 'till Monday to see who, but it's unlikely everyone there escaped unscathed. And let's hope there's some kind of armored shields that automatically come down in case of such a breach, otherwise the survivors of the sh...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

But not necessarily in the same location. If the station designer(s) had even an ounce of tactical sense, the command center and the power center would both be deep with the station, but some distance apart along the length (circumference?) of the station. And taking out the power center would likel...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

I'm guessing they don't have time for "more complicated". Another gunboat is bearing down on them, and they probably have time for just one pass at the ops center before the gunboat gets them in its sights and opens fire.

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

In that case Kari would likely still curse herself for standing by and letting someone else pull the trigger. The problem is there are no bloodless options here. If they just concentrate on taking down the gunboats, they either they get destroyed in the process, or taken down by the behemoth after t...

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

Agreed, Kari and company are about to be plastered all over the InterStellarWebs as mass murderers and war criminals. They'll be on the run for the majority of this story arc at least.

Re: Official "Discuss the latest page" thread

I'm not sure we should assume that every railgun projectile entering atmosphere will burn up. If these projectiles are dense enough to penetrate warship armor (and all parties concerned in-universe seem to think they at least could be), then they may be dense enough, and therefore tough enough, to g...
